1-2-1 Counselling
Sometimes things can feel difficult to make sense of on your own. You may know that something isn't quite right, feel stuck in the same patterns, or simply feel that you need somewhere to talk openly without judgement.

One-to-one counselling gives you a private and confidential space to talk about what is happening for you, at your own pace.

How 1-2-1 Counselling can help.

Counselling isn't about someone telling you what to do or trying to "fix" you. It's about having a space where you can begin to understand yourself, your experiences and the patterns that may be affecting your life today.

At Evoak Counselling, I work with people experiencing:

  • Anxiety and feeling overwhelmed
  • Childhood trauma and difficult past experiences
  • Depression and low mood
  • Addiction and unhealthy coping patterns
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Low self-esteem and feeling "not good enough"
  • Difficult emotions, including anger, shame and guilt
  • Feeling stuck or unsure why you keep repeating the same patterns

Sometimes you don't have a name for what you're experiencing — you might just know that you don't feel like yourself. That's okay too.

What can I expect?

Our sessions are 50 minutes and usually take place weekly or fortnightly.

I offer one-to-one counselling face to face, online and by telephone, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for you.

My way of working is warm, down-to-earth and trauma-informed. We can look not only at what is happening now, but also at what may be underneath it.

For some people, that means exploring how earlier experiences have shaped the way they feel, think, relate to others or cope today. For others, counselling may simply be about having a safe place to work through something difficult that is happening right now.

There is no set way that you have to "do" counselling. We work together and at a pace that feels right for you.

Taking the first step

Finding the right counsellor matters, which is why I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation.

It's an informal conversation where you can tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right.

Affordable and reduced-fee counselling options are also available.
