I support adults and young people from Walton-on-Thames who may be struggling with something that has happened recently or finding that experiences from much earlier in life are still affecting how they feel today.
You may have tried to put things behind you, keep going or tell yourself that you should be over it by now. Yet certain feelings, reactions or patterns can keep coming back, leaving you wondering, “Why does this still affect me?”
Sometimes understanding what happened to us can help us make sense of how we feel, relate to others and cope today. The things we learned to do to get through difficult experiences may continue into adulthood, even when they're no longer helping us in the same way.
Counselling gives you a space to explore these experiences without judgement. We can look at what's happening for you now, what may be underneath certain feelings or behaviours and begin to understand your patterns with greater compassion.
The aim isn't to erase what's happened or tell you how you should feel. It's about helping you understand yourself better, recognise what you need now and explore what you would like to be different.
I offer counselling for adults and young people face to face, online and by telephone, alongside group counselling.
